For TULCA 2017, T.Ed will coordinate for the second year a project with CCAM students and artist/teacher partner Karen Conway and her Transition Year students from Coláiste Mhuirlinne / Merlin College.  This involves degree students developing and delivering practical workshops inspired by artworks in the festival and in response to recent changes in the Leaving Certificate Art Curriculum.

TULCA under its education programme T.Ed is committed to creating opportunities of meaningful engagement for students from the Centre for Creative Arts and Media, GMIT who express an interest in arts education.  

Since 2014. the partnership has developed significantly TULCA  aims to give hands on experience to students in a supported environment.

Students have gained experience in developing and delivering practical workshops to school groups ouring the exhibition, leading tours for Art and Design students, and, undertaking project documentation for TULCA events.

Every year students work in partnership with the programme to devise relevant experiential opportunities in various capacities throughout the T.Ed programme including exhibition mediation, critical writing and educational workshops.

The opportunity now exists to expand the T.Ed / GMIT partnership in 2017 with the introduction of a new module in Curatorial Practices as part of CCAM’s BA(Hons) Contemporary Art.
